The Gumshoe Gumption

[mood |scaredscared]

...An empty office. "Damn", she thought, "Must be at lunch still". Disappointed, Elizabeth headed past her desk and down the stairs into the basement. She was sure Leah would be somewhere down there; that’s where she always liked to hide out on rainy days like this and Elizabeth could really use someone to vent to.
She was amazed she didn't hurt herself wandering thru the mazes of crapped strewn about the basement. "Someone needs to do some organizing around here", she thought, "some serious purging is in order. More than just stuff, there's certainly some people to be gotten rid of too". Elizabeth smiles to her self at the thought of certain individuals being swept out the door like the clouds of dust and mice on cleaning day.
Rounding the corner into “the main crap holding room” as she and Leah liked to call it, Elizabeth heard the squeak of the paper cutter. “Leah!” she called, squinting in the dimly lit room, expecting to see her docile friend hard at work, but there was no one. She walked around towards the sink and felt something rolling, a ball maybe, against her foot. Elizabeth kicked at the object, it was heavy and made a slurping noise. She looked down to see two terrified eyes staring back at her out of her co-workers decapitated head!
